Rhonda Poppen supports...

A family friendly atmosphere in Harrisburg.
Continued support for our parks and recreation department as I feel that our activities, parks, and community involvement are second to none in our area.
Increased funding to our fire service and to our contract with the Sheriff’s Department as the situations warrant to ensure the safety of our residents.
Funding for connectivity between our communities (greenways, sidewalks, and bikeways)

Smart and steady growth for our town.
Consideration of a limited moratorium on residential lot size (two year hold on lot sizes under one half acre) to allow our services and schools to adjust to the rapid growth.
Support of our small businesses by pursuing development alternatives to large retail.
Desirable growth is growth that complements our existing community and allows for an increase in home values.
Improved accountability/communication between members of the town council and between the town council and citizens.

·         A promise to be a new voice that encourages positive communication.

·         Implementation of conditional zoning districts, which allows for more open and honest communication between parties in land use decisions.

·         Quarterly town hall meetings where citizens are allowed to address the council and the mayor directly and mannerly, and in return, receive responses in like manner.

·         A promise to citizens that venues for meetings will allow adequate space for their presence when important topics are up for discussion.

Low Property Taxes.

Support of continued budget-conscious spending and protection of reserves.
Analysis of future growth to ensure that it does not burden our town financially and allows us the continued benefit of low property taxes.
